Ringor Baseball Showcase Series, presented by National Scouting Report.
On August 15th, Birmingham, Alabama becomes the national stage for baseball
talent as the top 44 high school baseball players in America showcase
their skills in North vs. South match-up.
The game will be played at Rickwood Stadium in Birmingham,
Alabama, the oldest baseball stadium in the United States. Modeled after
Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rickwood Field has hosted many of the
greatest baseball players to ever play the game. It is the field where
Birmingham native Willie Mays, as a 16-year-old high school junior, played his
first professional game the starting centerfielder for the 1948 championship
Black Barons of the Negro Leagues.
The chance to play in the National Game began with participation
in an area showcase. Of the several hundred athletes across the country
evaluated at each position by professional scouts, these athletes were rated
among the top performers in the county at their position.
